Rheinhalle Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen: Cloud solutions with OAS-SBS Smart Building Solutions

Ventilation systems in event halls are currently a critical trade. In order to upgrade the ventilation technology in the Rheinhalle in Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen, the system was completely renovated. At the same time, the building automation system was modernized and extended by the cloud-based service OAS WEBvisuPORTAL.

The entire heating and ventilation technology can now be monitored and operated via the web browser-based portal. OAS supplied all hardware and software components for the renewal of the building automation - including the integration into the "WEBvisuPORTAL", the cloud-based service of OAS.

The customer was the municipal authority of Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen. With the PGA WEBvisuPORTAL operated by OAS and ProSystems, the customer’s building and real estate office opted for an automation solution with cloud interface. This means a number of advantages. No server is required on site, so there is no need for care and maintenance. Data loss in the event of system failures is a thing of the past, and system reliability is almost 100 percent.

As a Tridium distributor, OAS supplied the required Tridium BACnet controller JACE-8000® for the modernization of the building automation. Equipped with AMEV certificate and BTL certificate, the component with BACnet interface is an OAS top seller from the modular Niagara 4 Framework program. Several JACE controllers were used to seamlessly integrate the heating and ventilation control centers into the building automation system.

The modernization of the building automation and ventilation system was completed in a very short time in July 2020. A customized 3D modeling of the entire BMS and the building complex was instrumental to the success of the project.
